What was the lowest amount you paid till-date for your train travel And the stations name ? Year ?

Overcrowded Train - Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, IndiaVirbhadra Railway Station - 2009
- (Rishikesh, Uttarakhand)
Ticket-Counter And I was in queue.
2-3 travellers in front And I waiting for the turn.
- Rishikesh - said I.
Rs. 2 - said he - The counter-person.
What ??? - Yes, Rs. 2 - said he.
I was amazed. Amazed because till-date since I started travelling I never had paid Rs. 2 for train travellling - The lowest till-date. In past double figure was the minimum but Rs. 2 ??? - shoulders were jerked And lips narrating the story for time-being - They were amazed And a look at the ticket - Virbhadra - Rishikesh - Rs. 0.50(printed)
Old ticket ???
That indicates the fair was Rs. 0.50 in past for the same distance - Another amazing fact.
The distance between Virbhadra Railway Station - Rishikesh Railway Station approximately is 6 kms. And 6-8 minutes - The Train Timing to cover the distance.
Then I thought about Tempo - The city vehicle service for travellers - Rs. 10.
Train travelling indeed the cheapest And saves time but the price Rs. 2 - I was thinking.
Thinking again & again to believe - I have paid the lowest amount till-date and it exist within Indian Train Stations.
I was happy And I thought about you - lovable bloggers.
The question was questioning the typer i.e., Me And I love to know the answer -
What was the lowest amount you paid till-date for your train travel And the stations name ? Year ?
(The above shown picture I clicked standing at Rishikesh Station - will tell you later more about the same in any upcoming post - do not worry)
The journey continues...

I am also quite interested in knowing where did you take this picture.

Even on the Kalka Shimla route there are two rupee fare, from Dharampur to Barog or instance.

The train is still cheapest mode of transport, if one is not in a hurry to fly. It is still the transport of common man.

I have travelled in local trains for a large part of my student life, and all i remember is that the quarterly passes were very affordable and convenient. I used to travel from my home in Barrackpore to Kolkata (Sealdah/ Jadavpur station) and that would be 25/30 km one way daily two times.
